Homemade ENERGY MIX for dancers w/ all natural ingredients

This dance season is throwing a four and 1/2 hour stay at the studio for me, in one night. I'm gonna get hungry in between classes, but I don't want to weigh myself down. So Mom and me brainstormed a light snack mix for energy and protein for muscle.


I like this mix especially because of the diversity. You have nuts for a nice crunch, pumpkin seeds for a good autumn-time feel (soon maybe a pumpkin pie recipe...?), coconut shavings for that fruity flavor, and chocolate chips for a hint of sweetness.
I'll be stashing this in my dance bag, along with some of the other necessities I mentioned in my recent dance bag must-haves post.

Energy Snack Mix for Dancers
A trail mix to keep you light of foot and still full of energy.
Ingredients
  • Raw pumpkin seeds
  • Nut mix (optional: cashews, almonds, peanuts, pistachios, etc.)
  • Natural Chocolate chips
  • Large shredded coconut
Instructions
Assemble all ingredients. Mix together in a baggie, bowl, or travel container. Don't forget to use a spoon for the little seeds! Enjoy.

  1. Mmm. This sounds delicious! Ugh, 4 and a half hours? That's so long. For tech week in theatre we have 6-7 hour rehearsals, but we aren't actually rehearsing the whole time. Unless you are a main character you just sit around for most of it.

    1. Thank you Pip <3 Thankfully, I have about 1 1/2 wait in between classes to eat, do homework, etc. WOAH that's a long rehearsal! I guess you can entertain yourself though, with the practices ;)

  2. Yup, I know all about pulling the long hours. Somehow a bunch of my classes this year got put on the same day. I'm there at 5 and get home 9:30, but at least I have a 15 minute break in the middle. Will be snacking on this then!

    1. That's basically my same schedule! I only have one night, but I have about 2 1/2 classes with an hour break in between. Great! I hope you like it ;)
