the DANCER'S GUIDE to making 2018 a #dancegoals year (w/ a free planner)

by - January 01, 2018

When I  get past the fact it's 2018, I start scribbling up some goals to dream-up the new year. One of my top lists of resolutions include a dance checklist; not only does this keep me focused and more excited, but it also helps my 'dance mind' stay organized.

This is basically writing down all the improvements I'm looking forward to this year, and checking them off as they come. With a section for critiques from the teacher, and a no-brainer month-by-month planner, I brainstormed a planner/checklist printable for you.

Serious dancers always have goals, whether it's the first heel stretch, split, or pair of pointe shoes. Hey, last year I was just trying to pirouette and this year I'm aiming for the quad (and gazing dreamily at my new Capezio pointe shoes). So, if you're a 'list' sort of person, or even a 'it happens when it happens' kinda human, take time to write down what you are ideally aiming for. Then...well, then you get to stretch, sweat, pirouette & watch your goals become reality (with a little bit of prayer).

Dancer's 2018 Planner Checklist in:

Don't underestimate planning; or checklists. I made this free, colorful Dancer's Checklist printable to help you (and me!) stay focused, excited, and strong no matter what's going on in the new year. Just click on the link and hit the printer icon in the left hand corner.

With the first box, I listed my all-around goals (examples could be things it takes you all year to achieve) ; the second is for the whole year, but divided into each month by one day of the week (examples could be certain areas to pinpoint and strengthen, on a day that's always free to workout)  and finally, the little box down bottom is for those...corrections & tips. We all need to pay more attention to what our teachers tell us; after all, that's why we're in class, right?
After you print your favorite color, enjoy filling it out...and later, checking off the boxes!

Hope you enjoy and have an awesome first day of 2018...
Love from the East coast.

    1. Haha. Sometimes I still just get lost in thought looking at my pointe shoes. Really? Congrats, girl! If I had any tips + suggestions, it would be to strengthen your core and your feet with a theraband (which I'm sure your teacher is already prepping you).

  4. ACK! *insert numerous heart emojis* These guides are SO cute! I love the color scheme! I've had to stop dancing, mostly because of my schedule as a senior (it makes me so heartbroken to have made the decision, but I had to) but I still like to do warm up routines for fun. <3

    1. AHH, THANK YOU, Abigail! <33 Soft aesthetic colors are my jam, lol =D Aw, that's too bad. I know a good number of my friends take dance 5-6 days a week (I thank God that all my classes managed to fit in one night), so their schedules can be trying. Warm-ups are lots of fun, maybe I'll get around to one on the blog :D

  5. Ahh! This is going to be so, so helpful for me! Setting dance goals is something that is constantly needing to be done, because improvement is always on the horizon when it comes to dance. :) Thank you for making this!
